POWDER MAD LEGENDS: Over 55 Cat Skiing in Georgia

Created exclusively for skiers and snowboarders aged 55 and over, Powder Mad Legends is more than just a cat skiing holiday. Alongside five unforgettable days chasing Georgia's legendary Black Sea powder, you'll spend two nights exploring the beautiful capital of Tbilisi, with hosted wine tasting, fantastic local restaurants and time to experience one of Europe's most fascinating cities. Combined with luxury mountain accommodation, like-minded company and world-class skiing, it's the perfect adventure for those who believe the best ski trips are about far more than just the snow.

Georgia's Black Sea Powder Playground

Far from the crowded resorts of the Alps lies one of Europe's last true powder frontiers. Less than 100 kilometres from the Black Sea, the mountains surrounding Goderdzi capture moisture-rich winter storms, creating remarkably consistent powder throughout the season. For our Powder Mad Legends weeks, we've chosen this destination not just for its exceptional skiing, but because it offers the perfect balance of adventure, comfort and authentic Georgian hospitality.

Only four purpose-built PistenBully snowcats provide access to more than 8,000 hectares of untouched terrain. Our experienced local guides carefully choose the best skiing each day, leading small groups through beautifully spaced forests, open alpine bowls and rolling mountain faces.

Unlike a traditional ski holiday, your Powder Mad Legends adventure begins in the vibrant capital of Tbilisi, where we'll spend our first evening getting to know one another over great food and Georgian wine before heading into the mountains. After five unforgettable days of cat skiing, we'll return to the Old Town for one final evening, celebrating an incredible week together in one of Europe's most welcoming cities. It's these shared experiences, both on and off the mountain, that make our Legends trips so special.

"After thirty years chasing winters around the world, I've learnt that the best ski trips aren't remembered for one great run—they're remembered for the people, the places and the stories you bring home."

Ski ability and safety

Powder Mad Legends is designed for confident skiers and snowboarders aged 55+ who enjoy skiing off-piste in powder and natural mountain terrain. While you don't need to be an expert, you should feel comfortable skiing or riding in ungroomed snow and be confident linking controlled turns in variable conditions.

Our experienced local mountain guides carefully assess snow, weather and avalanche conditions every day, selecting terrain that offers the best combination of safety, enjoyment and fresh powder. With small groups, modern safety equipment and a relaxed, supportive atmosphere, you'll have the confidence to enjoy every run at your own pace.

Terrain and Location

The Goderdzi Mountains offer an exceptional variety of terrain, making them the perfect destination for experienced skiers and snowboarders. Each day, our GMGA (Georgian Mountain Guide Association) certified guides select the best terrain based on the latest snow, weather and visibility, ensuring every day delivers the finest skiing experience.

Beautifully spaced beech forests, wide-open powder bowls and rolling alpine faces combine to create over 8,000 hectares of untouched terrain. Whether you're enjoying effortless turns through the trees or long powder descents above the treeline, Goderdzi offers an incredible variety of skiing throughout the week.

Our Powder Mad Legends weeks aren't about proving anything—they're about making the most of every run, discovering spectacular new terrain and sharing unforgettable powder days with like-minded skiers and snowboarders.

Weather and Snow conditions

The Black Sea Effect

Georgia's remarkable snowfall begins over the Black Sea. Moisture-rich winter storms travel inland before rising rapidly over the Lesser Caucasus Mountains, producing frequent snowfall throughout the winter—a phenomenon known as the Black Sea Effect. It's this unique weather pattern that gives Goderdzi some of the most consistent powder conditions in Europe.

Rather than relying on occasional huge storms, Goderdzi benefits from regular snow refreshes throughout the season. Combined with elevations above 2,000 metres and the region's cool mountain climate, the result is consistently light, dry powder from January through to March.

For our Powder Mad Legends weeks, this reliability means less time worrying about the weather and more time enjoying exceptional skiing. Our experienced local guides monitor every incoming weather system, selecting the best snowcat zones each day to maximise fresh tracks while ensuring every day on the mountain is as enjoyable as it is memorable.

LUXURY MOUNTAIN HOTEL

After a day exploring Georgia's incredible powder, there's nothing better than returning to the comfort of the 5-star Ambassadori Goderdzi Hotel. Spacious modern rooms, an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and outdoor jacuzzi overlooking the snow-covered mountains provide the perfect place to relax and recharge before another day on the snow.

Evenings are just as memorable as the skiing itself. Enjoy authentic Georgian cuisine, share stories from the day's adventures over a glass of local wine and spend time with fellow Powder Mad Legends in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. It's these moments that often become the memories guests talk about long after the trip has finished.

Luxury accommodation, exceptional skiing and great company—it's a combination that's surprisingly hard to find anywhere else in the world of cat skiing.

YOUR JOURNEY TO GODERDZI

Your Powder Mad Legends adventure begins in the heart of Georgia's vibrant capital, Tbilisi. After arriving at Tbilisi International Airport (TBS), you'll be met by your Powder Mad host before spending your first evening exploring the city's historic Old Town, getting to know your fellow Legends over great food and a hosted Georgian wine tasting.

The following morning, we'll travel together through the spectacular Lesser Caucasus Mountains to the Ambassadori Goderdzi Hotel. The four-hour journey winds through dramatic mountain scenery, traditional Georgian villages and breathtaking landscapes, providing the perfect introduction to this remarkable country.

After five unforgettable days of cat skiing, we'll return to Tbilisi for one final evening to celebrate an incredible week together before everyone heads home. It's a relaxed finish to an unforgettable adventure and another chance to enjoy the warmth, food and hospitality that make Georgia such a special destination.
