Ludger
Meet Ludger: Snow Nomad and Adventure Architect.
Ludger, hailing from Germany, has a first name so unique that even his fellow countrymen sometimes think he's from another planet. Internationally, he keeps it simple and goes by his middle name, Dominic. He’s been chasing snow since he was five and became one of the OG snowboarders in Pitztal, Tyrol, way back in 1986. That’s also where he first strapped on a teaching hat in 1991, starting his journey as a ski instructor. After years of shredding on a snowboard, he made a glorious return to skiing in 2004, lured back by the magic of carving skis and rockered powder sticks.
These days, Ludger combines his love for travel and deep snow as a tour operator and guide for small groups, curating epic adventures in the American West, Japan, and Scotland. He thrives in the wide-open playgrounds of Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Idaho, and South Dakota, but his ultimate wilderness escape is Alaska – pure, untamed magic.
When he’s not chasing fresh lines, Ludger switches gears in Münster, Germany, where he works in the concert biz. But winters always call him back. After a stint as a retailer and a game-changing season at Deer Valley in Park City, Utah, in 2003/2004, he made winter sports his full-time jam.
Ludger has since guided snow enthusiasts to North Macedonia, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Japan, Switzerland, Austria, Canada, and the U.S. This season, he’s adding Turkey to his ever-growing list of powder-filled destinations. If there's a snow adventure to be had, Ludger is your guy.
