Jem Rose – Founder of Powder Mad

Jem Rose is the original and founding member of Powder Mad, a skier whose passion for the sport and love for globe-trotting adventures have shaped his incredible journey. From the moment he discovered the thrill of deep powder and the joys of backcountry skiing, Jem’s life was transformed.

He has skied across the globe, completing numerous full seasons in the French Alps, Italian Alps, Colorado, and New Zealand – often stacking back-to-back winters in both hemispheres and barely glimpsing summer. Even on a sunny August day, Jem is usually immersed in planning the next Powder Mad adventure and chasing new stashes of untouched snow.

Jem has a rich history of collaboration with ski companies and once ran his own chalet business in the French Alps. His heart beats for the extreme, with an enduring love for rugged and remote mountain terrain. Over the years he has skied the Himalayas of Kashmir, jumped out of helicopters in Georgia, cat-skied wild zones in Ukraine, North Macedonia, and Turkey — always pushing further into the unknown.

In the 2025/26 season Jem continues his relentless pursuit of new powder frontiers: you’ll find him in the French Alps, Kyrgyzstan, Albania, North Macedonia, Georgia and Turkey — as well as venturing deep into the wilderness of Gulmarg in Kashmir. Always scouting, always exploring, Jem is constantly looking for ways to open up fresh freeride zones for the Powder Mad tribe.
