GEORGIA CAT SKIING • BLACK SEA POWDER
Hidden deep in the Lesser Caucasus, Georgia's Goderdzi region is one of Europe's true powder frontiers. Fuelled by Black Sea storms, this remote mountain range delivers remarkable snowfall, untouched terrain and five unforgettable days of cat skiing, all from the comfort of a luxury mountain hotel.
Georgia's Black Sea Powder Playground
Far from the crowded resorts of the Alps lies one of Europe's last true powder frontiers. Less than 100 kilometres from the Black Sea, the mountains surrounding Goderdzi are perfectly positioned to capture moisture-rich storms, producing remarkable snowfall throughout the winter. The result is deep, consistent powder that has quietly made this corner of Georgia one of Europe's most exciting emerging freeride destinations.
Only Four purpose-built PistenBully snowcats provide access to more than 8,000 hectares of untouched terrain. Each day, our experienced local guides choose the best zone based on snowfall, visibility and conditions, leading you through perfectly spaced forests, open alpine bowls and rolling mountain faces. Small groups keep the experience relaxed, flexible and focused on one thing—finding fresh powder.
After a full day chasing lines, the 5-star Ambassadori Hotel offers exactly what tired legs need. Relax in the outdoor jacuzzi overlooking the snow-covered Lesser Caucasus, unwind in the spa, enjoy authentic Georgian hospitality and prepare for another unforgettable day in the mountains.

Ski ability and safety
Goderdzi is designed for confident off-piste skiers and snowboarders who enjoy riding powder and natural mountain terrain. While you don't need to be an expert, you should be comfortable skiing or boarding in ungroomed snow.
Our experienced guides carefully select the safest and best terrain each day based on snow conditions, visibility and stability. Combined with small groups and modern safety equipment, every run is planned to maximise both safety and enjoyment.
Terrain and Location
Goderdzi offers an incredible variety of terrain, allowing our GMGA (Georgian Mountain Guide Association) certified mountain guides to tailor each day to the prevailing snow and weather conditions. Beautifully spaced beech forests provide superb tree skiing, while higher on the mountain the terrain opens into wide powder bowls, rolling alpine faces and natural ridgelines.
For those seeking a little more challenge, steeper lines, playful gullies and natural features reward confident skiers and snowboarders. With over 8,000 hectares of terrain to explore, our guides are free to continually search for the very best snow, creating an experience that feels less like following set routes and more like discovering a hidden powder playground.
Weather and Snow conditions
The Black Sea Effect
Goderdzi's exceptional snowfall begins over the Black Sea. Moisture-rich winter storms travel inland before being forced rapidly upwards by the Lesser Caucasus Mountains. As the air cools, it produces frequent snowfall throughout the winter—a phenomenon known as The Black Sea Effect.
Rather than relying on occasional huge storms, Goderdzi often benefits from regular snow refreshes, helping to maintain excellent powder conditions from January through to March. Combined with elevations above 2,000 metres and the region's cool mountain climate, the result is consistently dry, light snow that has quietly earned Goderdzi a reputation as one of Europe's snowiest mountain regions.
Our experienced local guides monitor every incoming weather system, selecting the best snowcat zones each day to maximise fresh tracks, visibility and the overall skiing experience.
