Gillie Revill
This season, Gillie Revill is really excited to be joining the Powder Mad team as a volunteer to help organise the inaugural ‘Legends’ trip. Gillie joins us from a recommendation from a fellow former rep for the Ski Club of Great Britain John Bennett. John has joined Powder Mad on multiple trips (Georgia, North Macedonia, St Foy) while Gillie still enjoys SCGB holidays, the Powder Mad trips promise a unique adventure, venturing more off the beaten track than other options.
Gillie has been skiing since the days of leather boots with laces and un-groomed pistes. Over the years, she has chased powder in Utah (working a season in Alta where the township mayor banned boarders) as well as Fernie, Banff, and of course Silverton in Colorado where only 100 skiers were allowed on ‘the hill’ each day and you had to boot up. Other memorable experiences include her skiing in Japan, where it snowed continuously for two weeks in Hokkaido, and a trip to Sochi a few years before the 2014 Olympic Games. In Sochi, despite plans for heli-skiing being thwarted by buried choppers, Gillie enjoyed riding an ancient wooden chair lift and cruising down through thick forests.
