What are the invite only weeks?

Our “invite-only” week has grown, but we remain committed to our core principles: only inviting those whose skiing abilities we know and trust, and keeping the group size to a maximum of 12. This ensures that every participant not only has the skill to enjoy the experience fully but also contributes to the close-knit atmosphere that makes these weeks so special.
How Do You Get an Invite?
If you’ve joined us on a previous Powder Mad trip, you’re automatically eligible for our “invite-only” week since you’ve already passed our selection process. Existing members can also invite others, including recommendations from Powder Mad staff, but every new participant must still go through the selection process. This isn’t about being the best skier or boarder; it’s about having the right attitude for the mountains, a strong team spirit, and a love for adventure. Our trips are designed for solo travellers seeking like-minded adventurers. While we don’t accept family groups or beginners, we welcome a wide range of skill levels as long as you’re at least a high intermediate and eager to challenge yourself. There’s no age limit—our members have ranged from their early 20s to their 70s.
What Happens During an “Invite-Only” Week?
Since our first “invite-only” trip, the experience has only gotten better. We now stay in a beautiful, spacious chalet in St Foy, where we enjoy dining out most nights at restaurants owned by friends, with meals included in the package. We also organise get-togethers and party nights, including a memorable midnight descent off the mountain after a fondue dinner and DJ set at a local mountain restaurant—an exclusive event for Powder Mad and our local friends.
Britt, a longtime seasonaire in St Foy, prepares breakfast, offers yoga and stretching sessions, and often joins us on the slopes. Warwick, our safety officer who also accompanies our trips to Turkey and Georgia, provides avalanche training for those interested. With his background as Ski Patrol in St Foy, Warwick knows these mountains like the back of his hand. Dougie, an expert snowboarder and former seasonaire in St Foy, joins us on the mountain and at the party nights. We also have Sonnie and Chance, two British-French ski instructors who offer guiding services to more remote spots on the mountain. And of course, there’s me, coordinating the week’s activities and ensuring everything runs smoothly for you to enjoy all these delights.
Our “invite-only” weeks in St Foy are not just about skiing—they’re about creating a community of like-minded adventurers who share a love for the mountains, the thrill of the slopes, and the camaraderie of the group. If you’re up for the challenge and fit the criteria, we’d love to see you on our next adventure.
